Records Keeping and Statistics are an important function within a police department.
Our Records Department is responsible for submitting all state and federal crime reports in connection with the activities that our department is involved in each month.
Our Records Department is also responsible for supplying the Erie County District Attorney's Office with copies of all the paperwork that is involved in the cases that they are prosecuting.
They are also in charge of disseminating the required paperwork requested by insurance companies, individual victims and the news media.
The release of this information is governed by a number of federal and state regulations.
